Panama Weekly Update – Week 5

God’s word for me this morning, “I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)  Can there be any more intimidating words than that for a Christian?  I have been struggling lately with my purpose here and whether I really am making a difference.  When the majority of my time is spent conjugating Spanish verbs I tend to get a little lost in how I am fitting into God’s grand purpose.  I thought about that scripture and wondered am I really living a worthy life at this moment?  You know the enemy is very persistent; he likes to throw that door of doubt wide open when he sees a crack.  When I read that scripture this morning I was reminded of another one… “..whatever you do, do to the glory of God.” (1 Cor. 10:31)  For the moment this is where God has me and this is what He has me doing.  I may not fully understand it, but I know that He is leading me.  So for the time being I will be rolling my ‘r’s for the GLORY of God!!  J

This week has been pretty much all about that - rolling r’s and memorizing verbs.  We had a meeting on Saturday with our Panama team.  We are making plans to take a trip to Diwarsikua on January 7^th.  Shelly and Lindy are going to fly back here with me from my visit over Christmas on January 5^th.  Lindy is coming to stay with me for a while.  We learned from one of the team members that there are a few issues that we are praying about in the village.  The chiefs are asking for a full time pastor because the church building is not being used when our team is not there.    Please help us pray for God’s guidance on this issue.  We want His perfect will for the people of Diwarsikua. 

One of the believers from the village was here Saturday.  They call here Dio.  She was here for the pastor’s conference last week.  She received a lot of Kuna material to take back with her to the other believers.  Right now the biggest issue is most of the believers in the village cannot read.  The pastor is praying about bringing this young believer to the city for a month to teach her to read, so that she can share all the material she received with the other believers.  At the conference Pastor Roosevelt was given the opportunity to share more about his team’s work in the village.  Afterwards three pastors approached him.  They said they were interesting in going to the village and possibly staying for a few months at a time.  If this works out it will be a direct answer to our prayer.  Praise God!

Clara has purchased her ticket home and will be leaving this coming Sunday (November 22^nd).  I was a bit nervous about being here without an English speaking partner for a month, but God has provided a friend to come and stay with me.  She does not speak English but I believe this will be a great opportunity for me to practice my Spanish more.  Also, I believe I will be able to go and do more things with her here to help me get taxis. 

Please be in prayer for our finances.  Things are getting a little tight, food and transportation is a lot more than we had thought it would be.  With the mission trip coming up in January we are going to need lots of prayer for God’s provision.  He has never failed in providing everything we need, so we give Him glory for that.

Panamá Actualización Semanal – Semana 5

Dios para mí esta mañana, "yo le insto a vivir una vida digna del llamamiento que usted ha recibido". (Eph. 4:1) puede haber cualquier palabras que más intimidando que que para un cristiano? He estado luchando últimamente con mi propósito aquí y si hago realmente una diferencia. Cuándo la mayoría de mi tiempo es gastada verbos españoles que conjugan que tiendo a conseguir un poco perdido en cómo quedo en el propósito grande de Dios. ¿Pensé acerca de esa escritura y preguntado soy viviendo realmente una vida digna en este momento? Usted sabe que el enemigo es muy persistente; él quiere tirar esa puerta de duda abierta de par en par cuando él ve una grieta. Cuándo yo leí que escritura esta mañana que fui recordado de otro uno… “..whatever que usted hace, hace a la gloria de Dios". (1  Cor. 10:31) Por el momento esto es donde Dios me tiene y esto es lo que El me tiene haciendo. Yo no lo puedo comprender completamente, pero sé que El me dirige. ¡Tan para el tiempo que es estará arrollando mi 'R para la GLORIA de Dios!!

Esta semana ha sido bastante mucho todo acerca de que - arrollando R y verbos que memorizan. Tuvimos una reunión el sábado con nuestro equipo de Panamá. Hacemos planes para hacer un viaje a Diwarsikua en el 7 de enero. Esqueleto y Lindy volará atrás aquí conmigo de mi visita durante las Navidades en 5 de enero. Lindy viene a permanecer conmigo un rato. Aprendimos de uno de los miembros del equipo que hay unos pocos asuntos que oramos acerca de en la aldea. Los jefes piden a un pastor lleno de tiempo porque el edificio de la iglesia no es utilizado cuando nuestro equipo no está allí. Ayúdenos por favor oramos para la guía de Dios en este asunto. Deseamos que Su perfecto haga para las personas de Diwarsikua.

Uno de los creyentes de la aldea estuvo aquí el sábado. Ellos llaman aquí Dio. Ella estuvo aquí para la conferencia del pastor la semana pasada. Ella recibió mucha materia de Kuna para tomar atrás con ella a los otros creyentes. En este momento el asunto más grande es la mayor parte de los creyentes en la aldea no pueden leer. El pastor ora acerca de traer a este joven creyente a la ciudad para enseñarla durante un mes para leer, para que ella pueda compartir toda la materia que ella recibió con los otros creyentes. En el Pastor de conferencia Roosevelt fue dado la oportunidad de compartir más acerca del trabajo de su equipo en la aldea. Después tres pastores lo se acercaron. Ellos dijeron que ellos fueron interesantes entrantes a la aldea y permaneciendo posiblemente por unos pocos meses a la vez. Si esto trabaja fuera lo será una respuesta directa a nuestra oración. ¡Alabe a Dios!

Clara ha comprado su boleto en casa y estará saliendo el domingo que viene (noviembre 22nd). Estuve un poco nervioso acerca de está aquí sin un inglés que habla a socio durante un mes, pero Dios ha proporcionado a un amigo para venir y permanecer conmigo. Ella no habla inglés pero creo que esto será una gran oportunidad para mí practicar mi español más. También, creo que podré ir y hacer más cosas con ella aquí ayudarme consigo taxis.

Esté por favor en la oración para nuestras finanzas. Las cosas consiguen un poco apretado, el alimento y el transporte son mucho más que habíamos pensado que sería. Con el viaje de misión que sube en enero nosotros necesitamos mucha oración para la provisión de Dios. El nunca ha fallado en proporcionar todo que necesitamos, así que nosotros Le damos gloria para eso.
