Maxi and Kathy Perez

My name is Maximilian Perez.  I was born in Panama City, but I am from Kuna Yala.  My wife's name is Kathy Miller de Perez.  We were married 24 years ago.  I asked Jesus to come into my heart February 24, 2002, thanks to the many prayers of my family and Ikusa Mission.  Now my wife and I are involved in missions in the Bayano area.  We have 5 sons, the oldests is a musician and the other boys are still in college and high school.  My wife is the daughter of missionaries.  Her parents were the first missionaries on the island of Aligandi in Kuna Yala.  We are both from this island.

Emigdio Fernandez

My name is Emigdio Fernandez de la Rosa.  I was born in the island of Rio Tigre, Kuna Yala. I have 3 brothers.  In 1984 I came to the city to study and in 1990 I graduated from high school.  I went to the University of Panama and made it through third year in Tourism.  I left college for financial reasons and in 1998 I started attending the First Baptist Church Kuna in Panama City. The following year I was called by God and started Bible Studies and I was baptized.  God had his plan for me and I never imagined he would have me working in children’s ministry.

In 2000 I started to pray for a place to serve.  The area God led me to was Madungandi , in the Bayano area. I enjoy going to that area not only to work with the children, but also to be with different ethnic groups.  Wherever the Lord send me, I will go.

I thank God for what I am doing helping people, urging the young people and especially the children.  My favorite month is December but because I am able to share with the children the story of Jesus’ Birth. To talk about Jesus is something that does not end, there are great mysterious and wonder in walking with the Lord Jesus.

God Bless You, Bab Be Bendako, (kuna) Dios los Bendiga.
