Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name;

let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Psalm 105:1-3

God was good to us last year.  It has been a slow transition but God has been with us every step of the way.  Throughout the past year, God has provided for us and the ministry to continue working with the Kuna in Panama.  Of course there has been difficulty with the language, culture and climate, but that comes with the territory.  One of our biggest challenges has been with our finances but we trust in God that he will keep providing what we need.  Please pray for us, for each one of our relationships with God, our relationships with each other as a family, and our relationships with others.  Specifically pray that we make new friends with whom we can share our victories and failures.

Finally, Thank you! Thank you for being faithful givers not to us but to God.  Our family is dedicated to living for Christ.  I (Max) see each one of us working for God in a different way. Saraí helps us take pictures and loves on the kids in the places we go. Even though Misael can't stay the nights in the village or the islands because of his allergies, God uses him on our day trips.  The times that we go for one day, he not only loves on the little kids but he brings his soccer ball and the young men come out to play with him.  These young men don't come to church but God uses Misael to minister to them with soccer.  Both Saraí and Misael help us with technology/social media.  Verna edits the newsletters and does research for the ministry needs/plans. Clara helps with the finance with our friend in the states, which is a very taunting task, and she does an excellent job.  Most importantly, she is our prayer warrior.

We are not perfect family.  We have disagreements, get impatient and push each others buttons like any family, but we are able to laugh and enjoy each other.  We want to encourage families to come for a visit.  It is a great investment, you will leave with a new perspective of God.

First of all, we would like to say "thank you" for your prayers and financial support.  God has used your support to help our brothers and sister in the village and the island.  In December we will share in more detail what God has done throughout the year.

Hope you had a great thanksgiving day with your love ones.  Here in Panama, we invited our family over and it was a FULL house.  We enjoyed great food by Verna and Clara, worshiped together (Saraí on the keyboard and Misael on the drums), great fellowship in Christ and of course a big turkey.

In November, we were able to go to the village every week and once to the island.  We taught God's word and spent time with the adults and the kids.  We also talked to the leaders about some issues they are encountering.  During the month of November, Panama celebrates their independence.  Below are some pictures of the school children marching for Independence Day and our visits from November.

Here, our beautiful daughter, Sarai is wearing one of Panama's traditional dresses.  The youth had a contest at church celebrating Independence Day.

During the month of November, we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family. I have a big family. We had 76 people with my nephews, their spouses, and their kids.  These are my brothers and sisters and my grandma.  She is 92 now and we are grateful that she is with us.

Sharing Food

Felt Art - Red Sea Crossing

Driver working on the van

Thanks again for your prayers. I would like to share some highlights of the trip. We had church with the believers in the village, but it was a little different. We asked if they could bring a meal with them because we wanted to eat with them. So, they brought their fish and plantains and we had our American sandwiches. Some of us ate their fish and plantains and most of them ate the sandwiches. So we ate, we laughed, we sang, we prayed, and we studied God’s word all in His name. It was such a sweet time; we were one in heart and one spirit. We also shared about God and prayed for each other; It was very impact for all of us. This is the first time we have done this type of fellowship together. They are looking forward to the next one as we are also. We also had a good time serving the kids with games, songs, and Bible study (the story of God parting the sea). We used felt art for visual effects that Fellowship Baptist donated to us. Everyone, even the adults, enjoyed participating in the story. There are still babies that are sick. It seems that their water system is now dirty. We are planning to, somehow, find out what we can do about getting it fixed. We already spoke with some friends that work for the water company. On the way back we had a problem with our transportation. We had to stop and our friend and driver got to work. It seems it was the ball bearing. The sound was horrible, two metals heating together. We still had a long ways to go, but praise God we got out of the muddy part of the trip. So our driver drove very slowly and carefully. We started praying and thank God we a ll made it home safely. Again thank you for our prayers. We know God was with us!
