Akuayala
During September, we went to a church in Akwayala. It is closer than to the city than Puerto Gavilana but it still takes a couple hours to get there. We left on a Saturday afternoon and arrived after sunset.

This is pastor of the church in Akwayala. His name is Kennedy; yes, like the president.
Saturday night, we showed a video in Kuna about the story of the Bible. Then we had a time of sharing and were ask great questions.
At the end, we divided into smaller groups and prayed for each other. Most of the people in attendance were young adults.
Bayano Lake
We left Akwayala early Sunday morning to travel to a new village we had not been to before. Two hours later, the motor boat we traveled in arrived to Darbardi!

On the way there, we passed two more villages that we did not previously know about.

They are called Pintupu and Icandi. These two villages have had pastors in the past but they no longer have one now.
Our Panama team has started the planning phase on training people in Akwayala in order for them to make disciples to these two communities.
But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me
John 15:21
Darbardi
The new community, Darbardi, used to have a temple and a pastor but they have not had one for couple of years. As is the custom, we went straight to the chief when we got there to introduce ourselves to him.

Our Panama team, Hermosos Pasos, separated into four groups, little kids, older kids, men and woman, to share Genesis. We then did crafts, sang songs and played games with the kids!
New Family of Believers/ God's Timing is Perfect
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
God gave us the opportunity to see a young woman and her mom accept Christ as their Lord and Savior! This news by itself is exciting! But then we were told the rest of the story.
You see, Pastor Kennedy told us about Israel, a believer in Darbarbi. He has been praying for and asking for prayer for his wife and daughter to accept Christ for years. God used our trip as his perfect timing for this to happen. One man's prayers were answered, two lives were forever changed, and many people's faith was strengthened that day.

Israel prayed for his family for years! How many times have you or I prayed for something for a day or a week and given up?
Sometimes the answer isn't "No" but "Wait". Prayer works. Stay faithful. God hears your prayers.
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:25-26
