January - March Newsletter

Hello Friends and Family,

Hope you are having a great year!

God has been doing great things here; I want to share what I believe are the highlights of these three months.

Panoramic View of the Bible for Kunas!

We have been developing material in Spanish and Kuna specifically for our group and communities in the jungle. It is material that is simple to use, practical for families and easy for anyone teach somebody else. we are striving to make it simple, practical and reproducible.

During the month of February, we used the first section of the material which focuses on a panoramic view of the Bible.

Hungry to Learn More

We trained Ray and Yeya from Hermosos Pasos, our Panama team. They stayed in the village

for about two weeks. Our brothers and sister were excited about the study. We could see they are hungry to learn about the Bible. They were learning fast and they wanted more!

Pleasantly Surprised: Not talking to the dead

At home one night a mom heard one of her daughters mumbling to herself. (It is very common for people to see and talk to the dead here.) The mom asked the daughter, thinking that the daughter was talking to dead people, "What are you mumbling about?". The daughter replied, "I am repeating the things I learned at church."

Ana: Accidently Teaching

Another night Ana, one of the ladies, was practicing memorizing the Bible verses from the study. She didn't know it but some of her grandkids were listening. She was teaching them what she learned without realizing it.

Lorena: Always a Way to Learn God's Word

Now let me share about Lorena who I have mentioned before. Lorena can't read to memorize the verses. She asked, "Can you record the verses we learned about on the cell phone so I can also memorize them?" I am glad she isn't letting anything deter her from her desire to learn more of God's word!

The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. Proverbs 18:15

They are so hungry for God's word. We are teaching them so they can go teach other communities what they have learned. The goal is...

"To make disciples who can make disciples"
